Monsoon Wedding (2001) -Mira Nair

I can’t believe it took me so long to watch this gem of a film. Everything from the cinematography to the acting, is superb. And the soundtrack features the best mix of nostalgic and contemporary Urdu/Hindi/Punjabi songs. This will be my feel-good movie to watch, even though some of the bittersweet scenes brought me to tears (the rendition of Madhaniyan for instance).
